New shop. New motor. Take 2.
We’re knee deep in the 2023 racing season. While I’ve been chasing the IndyCar series all over the continent, Chris has been doing a great job running the Willis Motorsports Super Stock. As Chris has gotten up to speed, it’s become apparent that we’re down on power compared to the field. It’s time to build him some fresh smoke.
Since I built the last motor back in April, Willis Motorsport West has relocated to Long Beach (I moved in with my girlfriend Kyra. She’s hot.) Long Beach is gorgeous, but shop space is even harder to come by down here than it was up in Chatsworth. Luckily Kyra is a angel and she’s letting me take over a corner of the garage. Behold Willis Motorsports new Engine R&D Lab;
Block is already machined, rotating assembly is balanced, just waiting on cylinders heads that are still getting prepped by Barrington Engines. Hopefully this build goes a little smoother than the recent build for Mike. Follow along and keep and eye on the site over the next couple of weeks while we build big power in our little beach shop.

What block are you using? DART SHP?
Yes sir! Dart SHP 31161111, 4.000 in bore w/ 350 mains. It’s the only aftermarket block allowed by the NYSS and ROC rulebooks, and its a huge improvement over a stock block.
I’ll be watching and learning. -Torpedo
